If you’re an employer, according to the OHS/WHS act you must provide (and maintain) a high level of safety in your work environment. A large part of this is ensuring all electrical equipment on your site is ‘safe’ for use.
Not only does this include any tools or equipment used in the manufacturing process, it includes computers, laptops, power leads, the kettle and toaster in the lunch room and the electric hand dryer in the bathroom. Even if a worker brings in their own radio from home, if it runs via single phase power then it must be tested if in your workplace.
As an employer, if it’s in your workplace then you’re required to ensure it’s safe for use—we can help guide you through this process.
